Clinics

Antenatal Clinic
Patients are referred to our midwife Carmel Durling and she then contacts the patient and arranges to see them at Oakfield Surestart Centre, Oakfield Lane, Wilmington.

Baby Clinic
Tuesday
The baby clinics are run by all of the doctors for child developmental checks and immunisations and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries.

Asthma Clinic
Thursday 11.00 - 12.00
This is run by the Practice Nurse in conjunction with Doctors, by appointment only.

Diabetic Clinic
Most of our diabetic patients have their annual review with our Nurse Practitioner but sometimes a doctor will perform this review within their normal surgery.

Family Planning
Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors during surgery hours. Dr Bhogal has special interest in family planning and women's health and is trained in inserting the Implanon contraceptive device.

Minor Surgery
All the doctors carry out minor surgical procedures at the surgery by appointment and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this.

Non-NHS Examinations
The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services.

We run daily clinics where blood samples are taken by qualified staff and sent on for laboratory analysis.

Warfarin Clinic
We run weekly Warfarin clinics, the main one being on a Thursday afternoon between 1.15pm and 5pm but there are other slots available should a patient need to be seen earlier.

Annual Health Checks
Our Nurse Practitioner sees patients who suffer with a chronic disease annually, letters of invitation are sent to patients with blood forms if applicable. Patients who are housebound and have a chronic disease are visited at home.

Flu Vaccination
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are housebound, a home visit will be arranged to administer the vaccine.

Our nurses can measure your air flow and volume to indicate your lung health by appointment.

Dieticians
The practice has a visiting dietician. They can be seen by appointment usually on Wednesdays.
